About

About Innovation Guru

Innovation Guru (Pty) Ltd is a South African advisory company working on health policy, digital health governance and AI governance. It was set up to give health organisations practical, independent advice from someone who has done this work inside the system.

Principal consultant

Dr Petro Rousseau

Petro started out as a nurse and midwife. Over close to thirty years in South African and regional public health she has managed district primary health care services, worked on donor-funded health systems strengthening and HIV prevention programmes, and, since 2018, held senior digital health advisory roles at national level.

Her work covers digital health governance, national health information systems, policy and strategy development, and the delivery of electronic medical record programmes.

She leads every Innovation Guru assignment. The team is put together for each one: Petro brings in the experts the assignment calls for, so a client pays for the skills the work needs and nothing more.

The name

Why "Innovation Guru"

Innovation is a new idea or method that is actually put to use. A guru, in the everyday sense, is someone people turn to for knowledge and experience. The company name joins the two: experienced advice that helps health organisations move new ideas from paper into practice.

How we work

Confidentiality

Client documents and data stay with the client. Nothing from one engagement is reused in another without permission.

No conflicts

We decline work that would conflict with existing contracts or obligations, and we say so at the start.

Your team keeps it

Deliverables are written so your staff can maintain and update them without us.
